Minutes:
1) The meeting started with prayer by amir and discussed all last week action items.
2) Status of last week's Action items was checked.
Finalizing the venue for amITy meeting:
Fither and Shafi had contacted Mujeeb moulavi who has given the permission for using the Masjid premises as meeting place. A written request addressed to the chairman of the mosque for this purpose was drafted on 21/02/2008 and submitted to Mujeeb moulavi. This would stand in effect until there is any change in the constitution of the masjid.
Classes in educational Institutions
The syllabus was divided into topics:
Introduction to Computer, Windows OS and Linux.
Word, Excel
Powerpoint
Introduction to internet, browsing, mailing and Islamic sites
Software piracy, viruses, worms and security.
Study the syllabus of the students to find if more classes are needed.
Suggestions:
Come up with a plan to get the knowledge of the students to create s/w beneficial to the community. This is a long term plan and requires mutual help. Eg: Create Malayalam version of understandi quran, create inheritance law software.
Create power point presentation of any information beneficial to the community so that they can be reused.
Create power point presentation of the content of the syllabus mentioned above.
Library
As a part of making the library more active, in the initial phases, it is expected that all the committee members borrow books from library. Riyas had received 2 such requests.
Public Meeting
Firos has to confirm the date for the public gathering and also the committee members that he needs for the purpose and send a mail to this effect before the next amITy meeting(28/02/2008), insha allah.
Suggestions:
We need to identify a resource who can speak on the topic “how islam can be inculcated in the daily life of an IT professional”. If we do not get a person for this, we would hold down the topic.
Different people should be given the responsibility of introducing each activity of amity.
The final decision rests with the organizer:Firos.

Dua learnt in last meeting was revised in this meeting.
If was the dua to be said while leaving the house:
Bismillah, Tawakkaltu, ‘a-lallah, wa laa hawla wa laa quwatta illah billah
(In the name of Allaah, I place my trust in Allaah, and there is no might nor power except with Allaah)

Action points :-
Classes in educational Institutions
1)Iqbal needs to convey to the responsible people in Al Azhar our willingness to start the classes as soon as possible and come up with a mutually agreed date and convey this to the amITy group.
2)The topics were divided among different individuals who are expected to come up with the teaching content and publish it to the group so that they can be reviewed. For each of the topic, the responsible person should select one more candidate for help.
The responsibilities are:

3)Slides should be prepared for each topic so that they can be reusable.
Public Meeting
Firos has to confirm the speakers available, the date for the public gathering and also the committee members that he needs for the purpose and send a mail to this effect before the next amITy meeting(28/02/2008), insha allah. This committee would then decide on the venue for the gathering and start planning for the activity.
Learning
Learn the dua while leaving home and while entering mosque.
